Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
1. Who we are
This policy explains how ShowCatcher ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses personal data through showcatcher.com (the "Site"), and the choices you have. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
2. What we collect and why
Mailing list sign-ups
When you join our mailing list we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. We use these to send you occasional updates about ShowCatcher's launch and services. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
Contact form
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, organisation (optional) and the content of your message. We use these solely to respond to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in server logs for security and reliability purposes.
3. Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the Site:
- Campaign Monitor — stores and manages our mailing list and sends our email updates.
- Resend — delivers contact form submissions to our inbox as email.
- Our hosting provider — serves the Site and processes standard server logs.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and data processing commitments. Some may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
4. How long we keep your data
- Mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe or we close the list.
- Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs are retained for short, rolling periods determined by our hosting provider.
5. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or restrict our processing of your data;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact form. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
6. Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. The Site currently uses only strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies — those required for the Site to function and to protect it (for example, security and load-balancing cookies set by our hosting infrastructure). These do not require your consent.
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where required.
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Site works.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we launch new services. The version on this page applies from the "last updated" date shown above.
